Why customers choose stamps and embossers
Stamps and embossers help customers apply logos, signatures, and return addresses with consistency, personalize stationery and packaging, and speed up repetitive tasks. Embossed impressions add a distinctive touch, and re-inkable, recycled-material stamp options make them a practical, long-term choice for everyday office or creative projects.
Custom stamps and embossers provide versatile tools for businesses, organizations, and individuals who want clean, repeatable impressions across a wide range of materials.
What is the difference between self-inking stamps and pre-inked stamps?
Self-inking stamps
- Self-inking stamps have a built-in ink pad and a spring mechanism that re-inks the stamp die after each impression. They’re ideal for fast, repetitive tasks and produce consistent results without a separate ink pad. Ink pads are replaceable and available in multiple colors.
Pre-inked stamps
- Pre-inked stamps hold ink within the stamp plate itself. They create highly detailed impressions that work well for logos or intricate designs. These stamps release ink directly through the text plate and typically last longer between re-inks. Re-inking involves adding a few drops of ink to the stamp surface.
What materials can I use my embosser on?
Embossers at FedEx Office are designed for 20 lb. paperweight or lighter, including standard office paper, most envelopes, and many types of lightweight crafting paper. These materials allow the embosser to create a clean raised impression without tearing or distorting the paper. Heavier or coated papers may not emboss as cleanly, so selecting the appropriate paperweight is recommended.
Can I upload my own design for a stamp or embosser?
Yes. You can upload your own artwork, logo, text, or custom design when creating your stamp or embosser. Your design will be formatted to fit the size and style you choose.
Are replacement pads or refills available for stamps?
Yes. Replacement ink pads and ink refills are available and sold separately for most self-inking and pre-inked stamp styles. Re-inking helps extend the life of your custom stamp.
What size options are available for stamps and embossers?
Stamps are offered in a range of impression sizes and shapes to accommodate text, logos, and artwork. Embossers are available in three sizes and in either pocket or desk models.
Can I use my embosser on envelopes?
Yes. Embossers work well on most lightweight envelopes and can add a raised seal or monogram to invitations, announcements, and everyday correspondence.
Can embossers be used on coated or heavy cardstock?
Embossers perform best on lighter paper. Coated or heavy cardstock may not produce a clear raised impression, so testing or choosing lightweight paper is recommended.
Can I apply promotional discounts to Marketplace Seller orders?
No, discounts are not valid on Marketplace Seller orders. FedEx Office discount codes only apply to FedEx Office products.
Do Marketplace Seller products have separate shipping costs?
Yes. Orders fulfilled by 3rd party Marketplace Sellers are shipped from the seller’s facility and, thus, will incur a separate shipping charge from one shipped from FedEx Office.
