How in-store shredding works
Our process is designed to be straightforward, secure, and handled with care from drop-off through destruction.

Shredding services are available at select stores. Use the store locator to confirm availability near you. - A team member weighs your documents and places them in a locked shred bin.
Shredding fees are based on the weight of your documents and are charged in-store. - Documents are securely collected and transported for destruction.
Once placed in the shred bin, materials are handled through a secure shredding process. - Documents are destroyed and responsibly recycled.
Paper materials are securely destroyed off-site and recycled as part of the shredding process.

In-store document shredding at FedEx Office is priced by weight. Documents are weighed at the counter, and fees are determined by the total weight of the shredded documents. Shredding services are available at select locations, so availability may vary by store.
What can and cannot be shredded


What you can shred:
Paper-only materials, including:
- Bank statements
- Financial records
- Old tax forms
- Canceled checks
- Confidential letters
- Legal documents
- Envelopes, postcards, and file folders
- Glossy paper and cardstock
- NCR forms
Staples, paper clips, rubber bands, and small binder clips do not need to be removed before shredding.


What you can’t shred:
Items that are not paper or cannot be processed include:
- Electronic media (USB drives, CDs, DVDs, VCR tapes)
- Credit cards and non-paper ID cards
- Laminated items or water-resistant media, including transparencies
- Cardboard or boxes
- Books or bound materials
- Plastic, glass, or metal objects
- Foam core or rigid media
- 3-ring binders, file and hanging folders, and medium to large binder clips
- Paper trimmings or loose shredded waste
If an item can’t be placed directly into a shred bin, it can’t be accepted for shredding.
