Can I laminate pages of my manual?
Enhance the durability and appearance of your printed manuals with professional lamination. You can choose from:
- Glossy lamination (full-bleed): Extends to the edge of your pages for a smooth, borderless finish.
- Glossy lamination (¼" border): Adds a clear margin around the edges for a framed appearance and extra edge protection.
Lamination provides a protective layer that helps prevent smudging, moisture damage, and everyday wear, making it ideal for frequently used or reference-heavy manuals.
Please note that lamination is available only for select paper types and is not compatible with folding, binding, blank sheet, or tab selections.
What’s the difference between gloss text, gloss cardstock, and glossy lamination?
These options each provide a different level of thickness, finish, and durability for your printed manuals:
- Gloss Text: A high-gloss, flexible paper stock commonly used for brochures, sell sheets, and photos. It delivers vivid color and a smooth finish, but cannot be laminated. This option works well for manuals that need to be lightweight and easy to flip through.
- Gloss Cardstock: A heavier, coated, high-gloss cardstock that’s more rigid and durable, ideal for covers or sections that need extra strength. Lamination is not available for this material.
- Glossy Lamination: A clear, protective layer applied over printed pages or covers to enhance shine, durability, and resistance to moisture or handling. Available only for select paper types and not compatible with folding, binding, blank sheet, or tab selections.
Each option serves a different purpose. Choose Gloss Text for interior pages, Gloss Cardstock for sturdy covers, or Glossy Lamination for extra protection and a polished finish.
What’s the difference between glossy lamination and water-resistant paper?
While both options help protect your printed manuals, they serve different purposes depending on where and how your materials will be used.
- Glossy lamination: Applied as a finishing layer after printing, this option adds shine and enhances color depth while creating a smooth, professional surface. It helps protect pages from fingerprints, light moisture, and frequent handling—ideal for training guides, instructional booklets, or manuals kept in office or classroom environments.
Note: Lamination is available only on select paper types and cannot be applied to folded, bound, or tabbed sections.
- Water-resistant paper: This 7.7 mil synthetic material is designed to perform in more rugged settings. It’s tear-resistant, moisture-resistant, and stands up well to temperature changes and heavy use—making it a better choice for field manuals, job-site documentation, or materials used in outdoor or industrial settings. It can be printed in color or black and white, single- or double-sided.
Note: Water-resistant paper cannot be laminated, as its coating already provides moisture protection.
Choose glossy lamination for a polished, professional look on standard paper, or water-resistant lamination for durability and environmental performance when those are your top priorities.
