Poster printing options and considerations
Paper and material options
Paper and material options vary by poster type. Poster prints are available on matte paper, as well as on glossy or satin photo paper, for designs that benefit from richer color and detail. Photo posters are printed on glossy or satin photo paper and mounted to a rigid black board for added thickness. Mounted posters are printed on matte paper only and mounted to foam board, while backlit posters are printed on translucent film for illuminated displays.
Finishes and lamination options
Optional lamination is available for select poster types to help protect the printed surface. Poster prints can be laminated with glossy, matte, textured, or dry-erase finishes, while mounted posters offer only matte or glossy lamination. Photo posters and backlit posters do not offer lamination. Lamination helps reduce wear from handling, but is not intended for extreme weather conditions. Mounted posters also offer optional grommets for easy hanging or display.
Indoor & short-term outdoor use
Most posters are designed for indoor use, including offices, retail spaces, events, and home décor. Laminated poster prints and laminated mounted posters may be suitable for short-term exterior display in mild conditions, such as temporary storefront promotions or event signage. Posters are not designed for prolonged outdoor exposure or extreme weather, and results may vary based on environment and installation.
