  • 130 lb. semi-gloss, glossy UV-coated (front only), matte, or soft touch: Heavier, professional-grade cardstock available in a range of finishes — from sleek and polished to refined and velvety

What do the different types of premium paper mean for announcements and invitations?

Selecting the right paper helps enhance the look, feel, and durability of your custom invitations or business announcements. FedEx Office offers a variety of premium cardstock options that differ in weight, thickness, and finish, allowing you to choose the perfect match for your design, tone, and occasion.

Paper thickness is often listed in “pt,” meaning points (1 pt = 1/1000 inch). Thicker cardstock feels sturdier and more premium — for example, 16 pt cardstock is heavier than 14 pt, making it ideal for formal or durable applications.

Premium paper options include:

  • 100 lb. linen: Lightly textured with a woven finish for a refined, elegant appearance.

  • 110 lb. semi-gloss or glossy UV-coated (front only): Smooth cardstock with a soft sheen or a glossy front for vivid color.

  • 130 lb. semi-gloss, glossy UV-coated (front only), matte, or soft touch: Thicker, professional-grade papers that range from polished and shiny to smooth matte or velvety soft finishes.

Each option delivers high-quality color printing, professional durability, and a premium presentation.

How long does it take to receive my announcements or invitations?

Production time varies by type and delivery method. Most Premium Announcements and Invitations are produced within 5 business days, plus additional shipping time. If you need your order sooner, consider Quick Announcements and Invitations, which are typically available for same-day or next-day pickup at your nearest FedEx Office location.


Can I upload my own design for announcements or invitations?

Yes. You can upload your own print-ready design or choose from a selection of pre-made design templates available through FedEx Office. Customize your announcement or invitation with text, photos, and logos, then preview your design before placing your order for delivery.


Do announcements and invitations include envelopes?

Yes. Every Premium Announcement and Invitation order includes matching white envelopes, so your cards arrive ready to mail.


Can I apply promotional discounts to Marketplace Seller orders?

No, discounts are not valid on Marketplace Seller orders. FedEx Office discount codes only apply to FedEx Office products. 


Do Marketplace Seller products have separate shipping costs?

Yes. Orders fulfilled by 3rd party Marketplace Sellers are shipped from the seller’s facility and, thus, will incur a separate shipping charge from one shipped from FedEx Office.
