How does fabric blend affect print quality?
The direct-to-garment printing process best suits 100% cotton garments. So, if you're looking for the most opaque result, 100% cotton is your best bet. This fabric generally has a better result due to its tight weave. However, there are exceptions to this. If the cotton is too thick, it can absorb more of the ink and result in a faded look (for example, the Men's Premium Heavyweight Tee, Cotton Heritage MC1086, is a thicker cotton).

We also offer printing on poly blends and tri-blends. Due to the looser weave and combination of fabrics, these garments will have a faded/vintage outcome with direct-to-garment printing. This is an incredible effect, but it may not be ideal if you want a more opaque outcome.
Is there a difference in quality between 150 and 300 DPI?
Yes, there is a difference in quality between 150 and 300 DPI, particularly in the sharpness and clarity of the printed image. If you're printing something that will be displayed at a large size or want to ensure your design looks crisp and detailed, creating your files at 300 DPI is recommended. However, it's essential to consider the printing method and the size of your final work to determine if a higher resolution is necessary. The custom apparel design maker is set to 150 DPI to accommodate all users, even those who may need the option to change the resolution of their images. This setting still provides good quality for most prints, especially for standard-sized items.
What type of ink do you use?
For direct-to-garment products, custom apparel uses Kornit Water-based and NeoPigment inks that are Oeko-Tex™ certified, which means they are safe to print on children’s clothing and reduce environmental waste. These inks provide a high washing colorfast AATCC rating of 4.
